Cookie Policy
Last updated: September 9, 2026 · Version 1.0
This policy describes what LaunchBae stores on your device, what each thing is for, and how to change your mind about the parts that are optional.
Only one category here is optional — analytics — and it stays off until you allow it. It reads alongside the Privacy Policy, which covers everything else we do with personal data.
1. What we store on your device
Like most websites, LaunchBae stores small amounts of data on your device — cookies, and the browser's own local storage. We use two categories and no others. We do not run advertising, retargeting or social-media cookies, and we do not sell what we collect.
Strictly necessary — always on
- Your signed-in session, so you are not asked to sign in on every page.
- Security tokens that protect forms against cross-site request forgery, and the anti-bot check on public forms.
- Your own choices about the interface, such as theme and layout, kept locally on your device.
- The record of the cookie decision you made, kept under launchbae_cookie_consent — the one cookie you cannot turn off, because it is what remembers that you turned the others off.
Analytics — off until you allow it
- Google Analytics, through Google Tag Manager, to count page views and understand which parts of the product people can and cannot find.
- It is loaded only after you allow it. Decline, and the analytics tag is never injected — this is enforced in the page bootstrap, not merely by asking Google not to look.
- [PENDING LEGAL] The identifiers Google Analytics sets and how long each lasts.
2. Your choice, and how to change it
The first time you visit we ask, and nothing non-essential loads until you answer. Your answer is stored on your device, so the banner does not follow you around.
Changing your mind has to be as easy as agreeing was, so the decision is never final: 'Cookie Preferences' in the footer of every public page reopens the panel, and turning analytics off there takes effect immediately for the rest of the session and every session after.
You can also clear cookies and site data in your browser, or block them entirely. Blocking the strictly necessary ones will stop you being able to sign in — that is a property of what they do, not a penalty we apply.
3. In the mobile app and the browser extensions
The LaunchBae mobile app renders the same web experience and carries the same cookie choice; making it in the app makes it for the app.
The Apply Agent and Interview Copilot browser extensions do not set advertising or analytics cookies. They store the credentials needed to talk to your own LaunchBae account and the state of the application you are currently filling. They are described in their own privacy policies, linked from their store listings.
